Restrictions of the Following Hazardous Substances
The EU RoHS Directive restricts the use of the following hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
Lead (Pb)
Mercury (Hg)
Cadmium (Cd)
Chromium VI (Cr VI)
Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
A review of the list of restricted substances will be carried out by the Commission by July 2014
The allowable limits are 0.1% (1000 ppm). For cadmium, the allowable limit is 0.01% (100ppm) by weight of homogeneous material.
